Is the new FUJIFILM X80 coming in 2023?

Hello, fellow Fujifilm fans! I’m sure you’re all as excited as I am about the rumors of the upcoming X80, the successor of the beloved X70. In this blog post, I’ll share with you some of the potential specifications and release date of this highly anticipated camera.

First of all, let’s talk about the sensor. According to some sources, the X80 will feature a 26.1 megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, the same one used in e.g. the X-T4 and most of the other X-series. This means we can expect excellent image quality, low-light performance and dynamic range from the X80. The sensor will also support 4K video recording at up to 30 fps, and Full HD at up to 240 fps for slow-motion effects.

Another rumor is that the X80 will have a fixed 18.5mm f/2.8 lens, equivalent to 28mm in full-frame terms. This is a classic focal length for street photography, landscape and environmental portraits. The lens will have a fast and silent autofocus system, and a manual focus ring for precise control. The lens will also have a built-in ND filter, which will allow you to use slower shutter speeds or wider apertures in bright conditions.

One of the most exciting rumors is that the X80 will have a tilting and touch-sensitive LCD screen, which will make it easier to compose shots from different angles and to adjust settings on the fly. The screen will also have a selfie mode, which will automatically flip the image when you tilt the screen 180 degrees. The X80 will maybe not have a viewfinder, but it will have a hot shoe for attaching an optional external one.

The X80 will have a sleek and compact design, similar to the X70, but with some improvements. The body will be made of magnesium alloy, which will make it durable and lightweight. The grip will be more ergonomic, and the dials will be more intuitive. The X80 will also have a USB-C port for charging and data transfer, and a 3.5mm microphone jack for audio recording.

The release date of the X80 is not confirmed yet, but some sources suggest that it will be announced in 2023, and available in stores by the end of this year. The price is also unknown, but it is expected to be around $900-$1000 USD.
